Instructions

Mix flour, Sukrin and salt in a bowl. Melt the butter, add in the milk, and heat the mixture until it’s lukewarm. Stir the yeast into the milk mixture, then add this, along with the remaining ingredients, to the flour mixture.

Knead the dough until it’s smooth and soft. Use a bread maker if possible. Place a kitchen towel over the baking bowl and set to rise in a warm place for approx. 30 minutes.

Split the dough in two and roll each half into a sheet the thickness of a thick pancake. Cut 8 triangles out of each dough sheet, and sprinkle with ham and grated cheese. Roll the triangles from the broad side in. Place onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Cover the rolls with a kitchen towel and set to rise for another 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius. Wash with whisked egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake the rolls on the middle rack for 10–15 minutes.

You can use whichever filling you’d like for the rolls; shredded chorizo is excellent for a spicy touch.
