Teacake

An easy-to-make teacake with a delicious layer of butter, Sukrin and cinnamon on top - perfect for cake lovers everywhere.

Use a round cake tin (approx. 24 cm) or a deep baking tray, approx. 35 x 25 cm. You can also double the ingredients and bake the teacake in a full-sized deep baking tray.

Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add in the milk, then heat until the mixture is lukewarm. Pour into your mixing bowl and add the egg. Mix well – a stand mixer is preferable. The dough should be sticky at this stage.

Cover the mixing bowl with a kitchen towel and set the dough to rise for 1 hour in a warm place. Transfer the teacake dough into your baking tin and set to rise for another 1 ½ -2 hours.

Sprinkle the teacake generously with Sukrin and cinnamon, and distribute thin slices of butter over the top. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for approx. 25-30 minutes.
