Twisted bun with marzipan and apples

This twisted bun is shaped like a regular wheat bun, but the flavour and consistency will remind you more of a delicious pie.

Instructions

Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm milk. Add the melted butter, then the eggs and sugar. Add the flour a bit at a time and work together into a dough – you can use a stand mixer or kitchen machine for the kneading.

Leave the dough to rest for approx. 10 minutes. Roll it out to a sheet of about 15 x 90 cm (6 x 35 inches).

Knead SukrinMarzipan, Sukrin Gold, and butter together, then spread the filling out over the middle of your dough. Place apple slices/wedges over the filling and then fold the dough around and over.

Brush the twisted bun with a whisked egg, and sprinkle almonds over the top. Leave to rise for about 45 minutes under a kitchen towel. Bake at 220 °C for 14-16 minutes.
